Senator Lewandowski calls for Argentine industrial development

Argentine Senator Marcelo Lewandowski has called for a shift away from a purely extractivist economic model, advocating for a national industry that utilizes strategic resources to drive production and job creation.

Speaking at the Industrial Congress of the National Consensus on Labor and Production, Lewandowski proposed several initiatives to support the productive sector. These include a 365-day suspension of tax seizures and executions by ARCA, as well as the automatic reimbursement of VAT credit balances for MiPymes within a maximum of 30 days.

Lewandowski noted the impact of the current economic model on employment, stating that one in four formal layoffs in Argentina is linked to industry, a figure that rises to one in two in Santa Fe. He emphasized that while he does not oppose the development of mining, gas, or oil, he insists that Argentine companies must be integrated into these production chains to provide services and supplies to foreign investors.
