Senator Magno Malta denounced for alleged assault on nurse
The Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT) has filed a complaint against Senator Magno Malta (PL-ES) for physical aggression against a nursing technician. The incident allegedly occurred at the DF Star Hospital in Brasília during an angiotomography exam.
According to the complaint, the technician noticed contrast leakage in the senator's arm and approached to apply a compress. The MPDFT alleges that Malta struck the professional in the face with a strong slap, which also damaged her glasses. The victim reported facial pain and redness.
The MPDFT has requested that the court order the senator to pay for both material and moral damages. Previously, the prosecution offered a settlement involving a R$ 6,000 payment or 45 hours of community service, which Malta refused.
Malta's defense denies the allegations, stating there is no forensic evidence of physical aggression. The senator has also exercised his right to defense. A previous attempt by Malta to file a report against the technician for involuntary bodily injury was dismissed by the judiciary in July.
