Senator Nilton Condori aligns with Evo Morales in Cochabamba

Suspended substitute Senator Nilton Condori has signaled a significant political shift by aligning himself with former President Evo Morales. Speaking at the ‘Evo Pueblo’ national assembly in Lauca Ñ, Cochabamba, Condori moved from previously criticizing Morales’s political ambitions to calling for the construction of a new societal model alongside him.

Condori used the platform to challenge the traditional political class and the orthodox left, accusing certain radical sectors of betraying social bases. He specifically addressed Morales with the phrase, ‘Let’s build another model, brother Evo,’ and drew parallels between his own eight-month suspension from the Senate and Morales’s expulsion from Parliament in 2002.

In addition to his rapprochement with the ‘evista’ movement, Condori criticized the current administration for stigmatizing social leaders and expressed his intention to run for office in 2030. He also called for the empowerment of the popular indigenous sector, involving both Morales and Vice President Edmand Lara.
