Senator Omar Fernández recovers from bacterial gastroenteritis

Dominican Republic Senator Omar Fernández has clarified that his recent medical leave was caused by bacterial gastroenteritis rather than exhaustion, as had been previously suggested.

Fernández reported that his symptoms, which included fever and chills, began on a Wednesday morning. His illness necessitated a pause in his official duties, causing him to miss sessions of the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) during the evaluation process for Supreme Court vacancies.

In a message shared on social media, the legislator expressed gratitude for the support received and emphasized the importance of recognizing human limitations and prioritizing health to maintain long-term commitment to his work.
