Senator Panfilo Lacson sends evidence of alleged ghost flood projects in Taguig to Ombudsman

Senator Panfilo Lacson announced he has gathered evidence of alleged anomalies in Taguig City flood‑control projects, including double billing, duplicate funding allocations and the use of identical photographs for different contracts. He said a slope‑protection project received two separate budget appropriations and that two distinct projects shared the same photo for billing purposes. Lacson submitted the documents and testimonies to the Philippine Office of the Ombudsman for possible investigation of plunder, malversation and violations of the Anti‑Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, whose wife Lani Cayetano is Taguig’s mayor, denied the existence of ghost projects and urged investigations into similar cases in other Metro Manila cities. He said he would address the allegations at the appropriate venue. Lacson warned that the evidence shows a pattern of irregularities dating back to 2019 and pledged to continue providing further material to the anti‑graft body.
