Senator Shehu Buba denies allegations of links to banditry

Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South, is facing allegations of links to banditry and criminal groups in northern Nigeria. The claims were brought forward by an individual identified as Hassan, who alleges a childhood connection to the notorious bandit leader Dogo Gide.

Hassan claims that while working at the senator’s residence, he observed suspicious activities and used his education to document information, including recordings of individuals allegedly connected to criminal networks. He further alleged that an aide to the senator facilitated the transport of individuals linked to Dogo Gide to Abuja for specialized training.

Senator Buba has vehemently denied all accusations, characterizing them as social media propaganda sponsored by political opponents to tarnish his reputation. He stated that he has filed a formal petition with the Inspector General of Police and noted that investigations have already led to the arrest of four suspects. Buba further claimed that Hassan has fled to Niger Republic to continue broadcasting allegations funded by political rivals.
