Senator Silvio Ovelar urges Colorado Party to focus on municipal elections

Senator Silvio ‘Beto’ Ovelar has called on members of the Colorado Party to focus exclusively on the upcoming municipal elections on October 4, rather than debating the presidential ticket for 2028.

Ovelar emphasized that the immediate priority is to secure as many mayoralties as possible to strengthen the party's position. He warned against internal conflicts and political divisions that could undermine the government, citing past party fractures that led to electoral losses. Regarding the 2028 presidential formula, Ovelar noted that while individual aspirations are legitimate, the decision rests with Pedro Alliana, president of the Asociación Nacional Republicana (ANR), and will not be addressed until after the municipal elections.
