Senator Solomon Adeola awards scholarships to 5,513 students in Ogun State

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola announced that 5,513 students across Ogun State received support from the third edition of his scholarship and bursary scheme. The programme distributed 1,735 university scholarships of N200,000 each, 3,577 bursaries of N100,000 each, and additional N150,000 awards for polytechnic and college of education students.

Adeola linked the scheme to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, saying it complements Governor Dapo Abiodun’s efforts to improve the state’s educational infrastructure. He urged beneficiaries to use the funds for tuition, accommodation or related expenses and not for non‑essential items. The Scholarship Board chairman, Prof. Tope Popoola, highlighted the transparent selection process and the programme’s aim to reduce the financial burden on families, noting that more than 10,000 students have benefited since its inception.
