Senator Steve Daines supports Chainlink ahead of NYC event
Montana Senator Steve Daines has expressed support for Chainlink and the digital asset industry. His comments precede the Link:NYC event scheduled for October 29 in New York City, which aims to connect financial institutions, policymakers, and blockchain executives.
The event will feature representatives from major financial organizations, including Swift, Citi, Fidelity Investments, Intercontinental Exchange, and the DTCC. Discussions are expected to focus on institutional blockchain adoption, specifically regarding tokenized assets, stablecoin payments, cross-chain transactions, and financial market infrastructure.
Senator Daines recently co-introduced the Aligning Digital Assets with Principles of Taxation (ADAPT) Act alongside Senators Cynthia Lummis, Bernie Moreno, and Tim Scott. The proposed legislation seeks to modernize tax rules for digital assets by applying existing securities and commodities principles to qualifying assets. Key provisions include exempting network transaction fees of $10 or less and removing the requirement for gain-or-loss tracking on everyday purchases made with regulated dollar stablecoins.
