Senator Ted Cruz calls for arming Kurds and Iranians to topple regime

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz has called on President Donald Trump to arm Iranian protesters and Kurdish groups to facilitate the overthrow of the Iranian government. Speaking to NBC, Cruz supported Trump’s assertion that military objectives in Iran regarding the neutralization of its military capacity have been met.

However, Cruz argued that the mission is not complete, stating that Washington’s next objective should be regime change. He specifically urged the administration to provide weapons to the Iranian people and Kurdish forces to allow them to topple the current leadership. Cruz clarified that he is not advocating for the deployment of U.S. troops on Iranian soil, but rather for the support and arming of anti-regime elements within the country.
