Senator Zenaide Maia hails free IFocus platform for federal education candidates

Senator Zenaide Maia (PSD‑RN) praised the IFocus platform, a free online tool developed by students of the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) in 2024. The platform aggregates video lessons, exercises, simulators and up‑to‑date information to assist candidates applying to the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education, including federal institutes, federal centers of technological education and the Colégio Pedro II.

Maia said the initiative demonstrates the need for public investment in education and the value of policies that expand opportunities. She highlighted the students’ motivation, noting that many are 18‑19‑year‑olds from modest backgrounds who created the resource to help peers facing the same lack of quality, free study material. "What struck me enormously was seeing young people, many from scarcity, wanting to make a difference for others," she said.
