Senators Jan Grulich and Tomáš Fiala win re-election in Czech Republic

Jan Grulich and Tomáš Fiala have successfully defended their seats in the Czech Senate.

In the Rychnov region, Jan Grulich secured victory in the first round of voting, defeating Petr Sadovský, who received 37.80 percent of the votes. Grulich, who intends to continue his role as a school director in Dobřany, stated that his primary focus remains education and supporting local mayors.

In South Bohemia, Tomáš Fiala was re-elected following his six-year term. Fiala, who serves as the chairman of the health committee, noted that his success stems from his long-standing work in the region and his 44-year career in medicine. Unlike Grulich, Fiala plans to step down from his position as director of the Strakonice Hospital to dedicate himself fully to his senatorial duties. He emphasized priorities such as supporting small and medium-sized hospitals and addressing the competencies of non-medical healthcare professionals.
