Municipalities in Chile and Mexico Roll Out Community Safety Campaigns
The municipality of Linares in Chile launched a “Winter Safe” campaign to educate residents about risks such as household fires, low temperatures and hazardous road conditions during the colder months. Mayor Mario Meza and local fire and emergency services distributed information on heater maintenance, electrical safety and cautious driving.
In Castro, also in Chile, the municipal “Senda Previene” program organized a preventive workshop for children and adolescents at a local football school, involving parents to promote healthy lifestyles and safer environments.
In Cuautepec de Hinojosa, Hidalgo, Mexico, a “City Police” interactive program was held in primary schools, bringing together police, firefighters, emergency services and other safety agencies to teach students about crime prevention, traffic safety and emergency response.
