Sen’Eau addresses water supply complaints in Ziguinchor and Sédhiou

Sen’Eau management held meetings with residents in Ziguinchor and Sédhiou to address widespread grievances regarding water services. In Ziguinchor, community representatives reported high billing, frequent water shortages without prior notice, and concerns over water quality. Residents noted that some neighborhoods experience water availability only during early morning hours, forcing them to adapt their daily routines.

In Sédhiou, inhabitants requested the expansion of the water network to specific neighborhoods, including Dembaya, Moricounda2, and Montage rouge. Residents also called for better assistance, such as the provision of water tankers, during service interruptions.

Oumar Sarr, Sen’Eau’s southern territorial director, stated that these engagements are part of the company’s 2026-2028 policy to strengthen local presence and dialogue. He noted that network reinforcement programs are underway to address pressure issues and clarified that previous concerns regarding reddish water discoloration were largely linked to temporary maintenance work.
