Two separate incidents have been reported in Senegal and France.
In the Zone A neighborhood of Senegal, 24-year-old Ousseynou Thioune was found dead, having reportedly hanged himself near his home. Thioune, who had grown up in Germany before returning to Senegal, had been experiencing personal and family difficulties. His death has caused significant emotion within his local community.
In France, the Lyon prosecutor's office has opened a murder investigation after the body of a man in his forties was discovered in the Rhône river. The victim was found partially submerged near a bridge connecting Villeurbanne and Caluire-et-Cuire with his hands and feet bound. Authorities recovered identity documents and a scooter from the riverbank. The Direction interdépartementale de la police nationale (DIPN) is conducting the investigation and forensic examinations to determine the exact cause of death and whether a third party was involved.
