Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô delivered his General Policy Declaration (DPG) before the National Assembly on September 8, 2026. The speech outlined a roadmap aligned with the 'Senegal 2050' strategic framework, emphasizing continuity of the current administration's vision while introducing new methods focused on efficiency and accountability.

Addressing severe economic challenges, Lô reported that the country experienced impoverishment in 2025 and faces further economic decline in 2026. He noted that public debt has reached 132% of GDP and non-hydrocarbon growth was 2.2% in 2025. To manage these finances, the government recently reached a service-level agreement with the IMF for a 36-month Extended Credit Facility worth approximately $2.2 billion.

Social priorities include housing and healthcare. The government aims to provide 500,000 housing units by 2035 and plans to construct four new level-3 regional hospitals in Saint-Louis, Ziguinchor, Mbour, and Kaolack. To combat the high cost of living, Lô announced plans to use state-private sector program contracts to stabilize the prices of essential goods like cereals, meat, and fish.

Strategic industrial projects were also highlighted, including the Yakaar-Teranga gas development, the Senegal Gas Network, and various mining and agricultural initiatives aimed at food sovereignty.
