Senegal advances SME development and US economic cooperation

Senegal is working to strengthen economic cooperation and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through both domestic coordination and international partnerships.

Domestically, the Agency for the Development and Supervision of Small and Medium Enterprises (Adepme) and the SME Directorate are enhancing their collaboration. Ismaïla Kébé, Director General of Adepme, and Henry Fall Carvalho, Director of SMEs, met to align strategic and operational actions to promote SME competitiveness and ensure more coherent public interventions.

Internationally, Senegal is seeking to deepen economic ties with the United States. During a meeting between Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Economy Samba Diouf and US Chargé d’Affaires Jennifer Davis Paguada, discussions focused on youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and financial inclusion. The two nations are exploring ways to use microfinance and digital tools to support cooperatives and social economy enterprises, while also looking toward local production transformation and social impact investments.
