Senegal: Aldiouma Sow accuses Ousmane Sonko of economic mismanagement

Political figure Aldiouma Sow has launched a sharp critique against Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, accusing him of contributing to the country's current economic and financial difficulties.

Sow alleges that Sonko is “blocking government initiatives” by prioritizing political strategy over state functions. Specifically, Sow points to delays in processing the Rectified Finance Law (LFR), which he claims has prevented public and semi-public administrations from accessing the resources needed to pay salaries on time.

Furthermore, Sow accuses the Prime Minister of “politicizing the debt inherited from the previous regime.” He argues that these institutional tensions and the perceived use of the National Assembly as an “instrument of political vengeance” are undermining investor confidence and contributing to the degradation of Senegal's sovereign credit rating.
