Senegal APR appoints Abdou Mbow coordinator as Macky Sall expands team
The Alliance for the Republic (APR) in Senegal designated deputy Abdou Mbow as the new coordinator of party activities in Thiès, citing his political experience and leadership abilities. The appointment follows a press conference in Thiès where Mbow and APR officials warned of an "institutional drift" and called for the dissolution of the National Assembly, criticizing recent decisions such as the reinstatement of Ousmane Sonko.
Meanwhile, former president Macky Sall, now leader of the APR opposition, announced the appointment of seven senior personalities to the party's national executive secretariat. The new members will oversee micro‑finance, legal affairs, mediation, logistics, public relations and other key functions, aiming to strengthen the party’s structure ahead of upcoming elections.
