Senegal beach volleyball athletes prepare for Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics

Senegal is preparing its beach volleyball teams for the upcoming 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar. The national representation will include one male team and one female team, each consisting of two athletes.

Training sessions are taking place at Yoff BCEAO beach, where athletes must contend with environmental challenges such as intense sun, wind, and sand depth of approximately 40 centimeters. Coach Assane Fall, who leads the national U18 beach volleyball team, noted that the sport presents unique difficulties compared to traditional volleyball, specifically the absence of substitutes; if a player is injured and cannot continue, the team must forfeit the match.
