Senegal: Djirèye Clotilde Coly advocates for Casamance development
At the 7th edition of the Salon Afrique Unie, Djirèye Clotilde Coly advocated for territorial equity to support the socio-professional integration of youth in Senegal’s peripheral regions.
Coly highlighted the ‘Plan Diomaye pour la Casamance’ as a strategic initiative to improve connectivity in the southern region, ensure access to basic social services, and foster an economic environment for local youth. She noted that President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has moved to decentralize Independence Day celebrations to accelerate infrastructure development and highlight the economic potential of remote territories.
Coly also announced that her department will soon release a detailed report on the actions and projects implemented across Senegal’s various regions, emphasizing education and tailored vocational training as essential pillars for youth empowerment.
