Senegal FA names clubs for CAF 2026-27 competitions amid AJEL Rufisque dispute

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) announced the clubs that will represent Senegal in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) inter‑club competitions for the 2026‑27 season. Teungueth FC was selected for the CAF Champions League, Diambars FC for the CAF Confederation Cup, and the women’s side Aigles de la Médina for the CAF Women’s Champions League. All four clubs obtained the required CAF Club Licence.

AJEL de Rufisque, which also secured a licence, contested the FSF’s decision to name Diambars FC for the Confederation Cup. The club said it received no official notification of the selection, despite having submitted its licence application before the June 30 deadline and being the sole applicant it believed qualified. AJEL de Rufisque announced it will pursue all available appeals under FSF, CAF and FIFA regulations.
