Senegal faces challenges in economic sovereignty and resource management

Senegal faces significant historical challenges regarding economic sovereignty, resource management, and social inequality. A primary concern is the nation's economic dependence, specifically the use of the CFA franc, which is pegged to the euro and controlled by foreign institutions.

Water access remains a critical issue for millions of citizens in regions such as Touba, Diourbel, Kaolack, and rural Casamance. To address these shortages, the ‘Le Chemin de l’Espoir’ program proposes the construction of a desalination plant in Potou.

With 60% of the population under the age of 25, the country must also confront endemic youth unemployment and rural exodus. Addressing these issues requires rethinking education and vocational training to prepare the younger generation for future challenges.
