Senegal inaugurates 1,000-bed complex at University of Bambey

Senegalese ministers Boubacar Camara, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and Déthié Fall, Minister of Infrastructure, have inaugurated a new 1,000-bed residential complex at the Alioune Diop University of Bambey (Uadb).

The new facility includes a 1,000-seat restaurant and a medico-social center, with specific rooms designated for persons with disabilities. This project is part of a broader government initiative to increase student housing capacity in public university campuses, with a goal of delivering 10,100 new beds by the end of the year.

In addition to the inauguration, officials laid the foundation stones for five new building lots as part of a modernization program for university infrastructure. Minister Camara urged students to maintain the facilities to ensure they remain available for future generations.
