Senegal investigators unlock Kocc Barma's phone in Seneporno case

Investigators in the Seneporno case have made a significant breakthrough after successfully unlocking the iPhone 16 belonging to El Hadji Babacar Dioum, known as Kocc Barma. Dioum, who has been in custody since June 2025, had previously claimed to have forgotten his device's passcode.

The Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC) reportedly discovered compromising evidence and identified several of Dioum's contacts within the device. Following these findings, the presiding judge has ordered investigators to identify and apprehend any individuals involved as accomplices, co-authors, or receivers of stolen goods.

Further judicial orders include requesting telephone operators to identify all numbers and subscriptions registered to Dioum. Authorities are also investigating his financial records through the Dakar Commercial Court and tracing his international travel between 2017 and 2025 to determine if the criminal network has cross-border ramifications.

Dioum and his co-defendant, El Hadji Assane Demba (alias Leuk Daour), face multiple charges including criminal conspiracy, illicit data collection, violation of privacy, distribution of obscene material, child pornography, and extortion.
