Senegal Justice Minister visits Rufisque High Court

Senegalese Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Me Moussa Sarr, conducted a visit to the Rufisque High Court (TGI) located in Diamniadio on September 14, 2026. This marked the first time a government authority has visited the jurisdiction since its installation in January 2024.

The visit highlighted significant operational challenges facing the court. Judicial officials reported critical material shortages, including inadequate courtroom space, poor ventilation, lack of air conditioning, and plumbing and sanitation issues. Additionally, the court is struggling with a shortage of human resources, specifically regarding magistrates, clerks, and administrative staff, as well as insufficient IT equipment.
