Senegalese Interior and Public Security Minister Mouhamadou Makhtar Cissé conducted a tour of strategic border posts in the South and South-East regions to assess the working conditions of security forces.
The tour included visits to Mpack in Ziguinchor, Moussala in Kédougou, Gouloumbou in Tambacounda, and Kalifourou in Kolda. Accompanied by National Police Director General Mame Seydou Ndour and Border Police Director Abdou Leye, the Minister engaged with defense and security personnel regarding surveillance and territorial integrity.
In Tambacounda, specifically at the Gouloumbou post, officials announced the reinforcement of the security apparatus with 15 additional agents and new nautical equipment to improve monitoring. At the Moussala border post, the Minister emphasized the urgent need to accelerate road construction to facilitate the Dakar-Bamako corridor and improve the living conditions of personnel, including access to water and telecommunications. The visit aimed to strengthen the link between central leadership and field agents while addressing logistical challenges and the need for professional vigilance in high-traffic and sensitive border zones.
