Senegal Ministry of National Education inspects schools in Gambia

The Senegalese Ministry of National Education has launched a supervision mission to reinforce its educational institutions located in the Republic of Gambia ahead of the 2026-2027 school year. A ministerial delegation, led by the Director of Maintenance of School Buildings, Pape Abdou Dia, conducted inspections to evaluate infrastructure, security, and learning environments.

The mission first visited the Lycée sénégalais de Banjul to assess progress on commitments regarding the renovation of the library, the rehabilitation and equipping of the laboratory, and the strengthening of IT resources. The delegation also inspected buildings and common spaces while meeting with the educational community to identify additional needs related to hygiene, accessibility, and inclusion.

The tour continued to Kanifing to examine primary and preschool facilities, focusing on priority rehabilitation needs to improve long-term teaching and learning conditions.
