Senegal political mobilization intensifies ahead of 2027 elections

Political actors in Senegal are intensifying local mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 elections. In the Thiès-Nord commune, Moussa Thiombane is conducting field activities and direct community meetings to establish a foundation for a mayoral bid. His strategy focuses on maintaining a constant presence in local neighborhoods to gather citizen concerns and strengthen his political base.

In Kaolack, the S.E.T (Sénégal En Tête) party, led by Moustapha Mamba Guirassy, is also increasing its local presence. Under the direction of communal coordinator Coumba Ba, the party is engaging in social, environmental, and economic initiatives. These activities include reforestation efforts in the Keur Maloum neighborhood and community panels aimed at discussing local development. The party is specifically emphasizing support for women, children, and vulnerable populations to combat poverty and unemployment.
