Senegal President Bassirou Diomaye Faye appoints new heads of agencies and state firms

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye issued a decree filling a number of senior posts that became vacant after recent resignations. Dr. Moustapha Mbengue, a specialist in information and communication science, was named director of the National Archives. Mamadou Diouf, an expert in decentralisation and local development, took over the presidency of the Board of the Agency for Local Development (ADL). Cheikh Ahmeth Tidiane Gueye, an agro‑food chemist, was appointed chief executive of the Société nationale de commercialisation des oléagineux du Sénégal (Sonacos). Abdou Simbandy Diatta, a teacher of arts and culture and former director of the Ministry of Culture, became director general of the Musée des Civilisations noires. In a related appointment, Abdourahmane Baldé was confirmed as director general of the National Oil Company of Senegal (LONASE), replacing Toussaint Manga. The reshuffle is presented as part of a broader effort to reinforce the efficiency of the administration and support Senegal’s development agenda.
