Senegal President Bassirou Diomaye Faye Meets Ivorian Vice President Tiémoko Koné

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye received Ivory Coast’s Vice President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné at the Palais de la République in Dakar. Koné delivered an official message from President Alassane Ouattara, congratulating Faye on his election as chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and reaffirming Côte d’Ivoire’s support for his mandate.

The two leaders emphasized the long‑standing friendship and cooperation between Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire, pledging to deepen collaboration on regional integration, political stability, security and economic development. The visit followed earlier diplomatic contacts, including Senegal’s outreach for support of General Birame Diop’s candidacy for the ECOWAS Commission presidency, and was marked by a welcome at Blaise Diagne Airport by Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô.
