Rémy Daillet trial begins in Paris over kidnapping and coup plots

The trial of Rémy Daillet-Wiedemann and 14 co-defendants began in Paris on September 15, 2026. The defendants face charges including criminal conspiracy in preparation for terrorist acts and complicity in the kidnapping of an eight-year-old girl, Mia, in April 2021.

Prosecutors allege the kidnapping was not an isolated incident but a test for a larger, organized movement known as ‘Project Azur.’ The network, described as having far-right and conspiracy-driven ideologies, allegedly planned attacks against state institutions, 5G antennas, vaccination centers, and specific religious or Masonic groups.

Daillet, a former conspiracy theorist YouTuber, is accused of organizing and financing the operation from Malaysia. Among the defendants is Mia’s mother, Lola Montemaggi, who is charged with complicity in the abduction and sequestration of a minor. The trial is expected to last three weeks.
