Senegal remains undefeated under Patrick Vieira amid CAN 2027 qualifiers

Senegal head coach Patrick Vieira remains optimistic regarding his team's preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers. Following a series of matches, including a 1-0 friendly victory against Comoros in Marseille, the Lions de la Teranga remain undefeated under Vieira's leadership.

Despite the positive results, which include a 1-1 draw against Mozambique and a 1-0 win over Ethiopia, analysts note that the team has yet to achieve consistent fluidity or defensive stability. While players like Iliman Ndiaye have demonstrated individual talent, concerns remain regarding the midfield's ability to protect the defense and maintain compactness between lines. Vieira has emphasized that his strategy relies on three pillars: mental state, physical condition, and tactical coherence.
