Senegal resumes Family Security Grant payments to expanded beneficiary list
Senegal has officially resumed payments for the National Program for Family Security Grants (PNBSF) following a two-year suspension. The launch ceremony, held on October 1, 2026, was led by Marie Angélique Mame Selbé Diouf, the Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity.
The program has expanded its reach, increasing the number of beneficiaries from 355,013 to 412,011. This includes 325,741 households identified through the National Unique Registry (RNU) and 86,270 individuals living with disabilities who hold the Equality of Opportunity Card.
An overall budget of 70 billion FCFA has been allocated for the four quarters of 2026. Each eligible household is set to receive 140,000 FCFA to cover the year's installments. The initiative is part of the ‘Senegal 2050’ national transformation agenda, aiming to strengthen social safety nets and improve the resilience of vulnerable populations against poverty.
