Senegal spiritual practitioner confesses to ritual murder of 20-year-old woman

A traditional spiritual practitioner, identified as B. Ndiaye, has confessed to the murder of 20-year-old Ndèye Bigué Sène in Tivaouane, Senegal. Ndiaye allegedly lured the victim to a meeting on the night of August 21, 2026, as part of a ritual intended to bring him wealth.

According to investigators, the suspect claimed he was instructed by another practitioner known as “Coulibaly” to find a young virgin, administer an unknown substance, stab her, collect her blood, and then strangle her. The victim, a high school senior who had traveled to the area for Gamou religious celebrations, was discovered dead in a bush on August 22 with multiple stab wounds.

Police identified the suspect through neighborhood inquiries and mobile phone record analysis. While Ndiaye has confessed to the killing, he has denied allegations of sexual assault. An autopsy is expected to determine if the victim was sexually assaulted. The suspect is currently in police custody.
