Senegal Sports Minister Djirèye Clotilde Coly Launches New Governance Pact with Federations

Senegal's Minister of Youth and Sports, Djirèye Clotilde Coly, convened a meeting on 6 August 2026 at the Salon d’honneur of Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor in Dakar. Presidents of national sports federations, representatives of the Comité National Olympique et Sportif Sénégalais (CNOSS) and senior ministry officials attended.

Coly announced the reinstatement of "conventions d’objectifs" between the state and federations receiving public funding. The new contracts will tie funding to measurable performance indicators and include a permanent dialogue framework, finalisation of sport‑code decrees, enhanced training for officials and new partnership mechanisms. Preparation for the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 was highlighted as a priority, with the ministry pledging closer cooperation to optimise athlete preparation.
