Senegal to resume family security grant payments in late September

Senegal’s Minister of Women, Social Action and Solidarity, Marie Angélique Diouf, has announced that the resumption of family security grant payments is scheduled for the end of September 2026. This decision follows directives from the President of the Republic to support vulnerable households.

For the upcoming September disbursement, 469,497 households are expected to receive 35,000 FCFA per quarter. The government is utilizing the National Unique Registry (RNU) to ensure accurate targeting and to identify families whose economic situations have improved. Payments will be facilitated through La Poste and various mobile money operators.

The program is undergoing significant expansion. While the current budget has increased to 70 billion FCFA, authorities are planning for a 2027 budget of 140 billion FCFA. This expansion aims to increase the number of beneficiary households to approximately 1,000,649, providing a critical social safety net covering health, education, and civil status needs.
