Senegalese couple found dead in Italy, suspected carbon monoxide poisoning

A Senegalese couple, Birame Sall, 34, and Rouba Ndaw, 32, were found dead in their home in Bocca d’Enza, in the province of Parma, Italy. The incident occurred during the night of October 29 to October 30, 2026.

Preliminary investigations suggest the deaths may have been caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. Authorities are looking into whether a charcoal brazier used for heating led to a toxic gas accumulation within the residence.

The couple's seven month old baby was found alive but remains in critical condition in the hospital. A six year old child also survived the incident. Italian authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances and cause of death.
