Senegal's ONRAC reports record seizures and auction revenue in 2025

Marking its fifth anniversary, Senegal's Office National de Recouvrement des Avoirs Criminels (ONRAC) reported a sharp increase in asset confiscations in 2025. The agency received 200 seizure orders—a 104% rise from the previous year—and seized bank assets worth 13.8 bn FCFA (+247%) and bail guarantees of 21.2 bn FCFA (+1,463%). A total of 3,889 assets were handed over by courts, and 188 criminal‑justice actors were trained through workshops.

ONRAC held 19 public auctions across six regions, selling 2,925 items and generating 2.23 bn FCFA in revenue. Dakar accounted for 85% of the proceeds (about 1.90 bn FCFA), while Kédougou contributed the majority of auctioned lots (55%). The agency executed 14 confiscation decisions (up 180%) and 30 restitution decisions, returning 913.6 m FCFA to rightful owners. Seventy‑nine percent of confiscations involved drug‑related offenses, and the overall portfolio of seized assets exceeded 50 bn FCFA by March 2026.
