Senegal’s Youth Olympic Games construction hits 92% completion
Three months before the opening of the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, officials reported that construction of the event’s facilities in Diamniadio is 92 % complete. Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Djireye Clotilde Coly inspected the equestrian centre and the Olympic Village alongside Infrastructure Minister Déthié Fall and COJOJ coordinator Ibrahima Wade. The visits followed earlier inspections of the Iba Mar Diop stadium and Dakar’s Olympic pool.
Key works include the equestrian Centre’s Building A with fifteen boxes for horses, a mixed‑use mess hall, a modern gym, housing for gendarmes and officers, and storage hangars for equipment and saddlery. The ministry highlighted that the progress “illustrates the dynamic, sustained work” and meets the schedule for the Games slated for 31 October–13 November 2026.
