Sener guarantees fuel supply and price stability in Mexico

Mexico’s Secretariat of Energy (Sener) has guaranteed the supply of gasoline and diesel across the country, dismissing concerns regarding potential shortages or price hikes. The agency reported that both Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and private companies maintain sufficient inventories and that supply chains are operating normally.

Price stability remains in effect through a voluntary agreement. Under this arrangement, regular gasoline is capped at 24 pesos per liter and diesel at 27 pesos per liter. In border regions, prices remain below 25.39 pesos per liter due to an 8% VAT rate. The Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) noted that the 24-peso limit for regular gasoline is established until March 2027.
