Senfuku Japanese Restaurant to close after 45 years

Senfuku Japanese Restaurant, a long-standing sushi establishment in San Pedro, California, is scheduled to close after 45 years of operation. Owners Helen and Yoshi Kikuchi are closing the business as they enter retirement.

Originally opened in 1974, the restaurant moved to its current location on West 6th Street in 1982. The eatery has served a variety of dishes, including sushi rolls, sashimi, and teriyaki sets, and has hosted notable figures such as writer Charles Bukowski.

The restaurant will serve its final customers on September 16, with extended hours until 10 p.m. for its closing day.
