Senica municipal police introduce body cameras

The municipal police in Senica have introduced the use of external body cameras as part of a gradual modernization of their operations. The technology is intended to increase safety for both citizens and officers by providing objective recordings of incidents, offenses, and official interventions.

Mayor Martin Džačovský stated that the cameras serve as a practical tool to enhance security and transparency, helping to build public trust in the police force. Police Chief Boris Horváth noted that the recordings can clarify disputed situations, serve as evidence for resolving offenses, and provide a preventive effect by encouraging calmer interactions during interventions.

According to city spokesperson Tatiana Moravcová, the use of cameras will comply with current regulations regarding privacy and personal data protection. Officers are required to notify individuals when they are being recorded during an intervention.
