Senigallia Citizen Committee criticizes PD over hospital funding demands
The Comitato Cittadino of Senigallia has criticized the Democratic Party (PD) following a meeting regarding the local hospital. The committee expressed frustration that political and union representatives rejected their proposal to unite forces to address critical healthcare shortages.
The committee’s demands for the Senigallia Hospital include increasing the number of doctors in the emergency room, strengthening ophthalmology and ENT departments, establishing active radiological shifts, and implementing short-term surgery for minor procedures. They also called for technological upgrades and improved air conditioning throughout the facility.
While political representatives attributed the healthcare crisis to national public underfunding, the committee argued that local action is needed to address immediate issues such as excessive waiting lists and the failure to staff the hospital according to its official organizational plan.
