Senigallia councilor challenges provincial gym access restrictions

Senigallia city councilor Camilla Baroncioni of Forza Italia has filed an oral inquiry regarding the lack of adequate sports facilities in Senigallia. The inquiry targets the Province of Ancona, alleging that the provincial administration is failing to comply with the Berruto Law (Law 53/2026).

According to Baroncioni, two provincial gyms located in Senigallia—the via d’Aquino gym and the via Rossini gym used by Liceo Perticari—are being denied to local sports clubs despite being fully functional and not undergoing repairs. The law requires these facilities to be made available to sports organizations during non-school periods, including summer breaks.

Baroncioni noted that approximately 150 young people are currently without facilities due to bureaucratic delays or non-compliance with the law. She argued that the refusal to grant access to these public spaces causes evident hardship for local youth and sports clubs, and constitutes a failure in public administration efficiency.
