ARPA Abruzzo presents Vebs health and nature project

ARPA Abruzzo participated in the third day of the “Cammino dello Studente” event in Villa Sant'Angelo, bringing a mobile laboratory to provide scientific insights to approximately 200 participants. The initiative focused on sustainability and the relationship between nature, health, and well-being.

During the event, biologist Donatella Rosoni presented the Vebs project, a national applied research initiative studying the effects of contact with green and blue spaces—such as parks, forests, lakes, and coastal areas—on human health. The project evaluates these environments based on their quality, accessibility, and ability to promote physical activity, social inclusion, and overall well-being.

The Vebs project is part of the National Complementary Plan for “Health, environment, biodiversity and climate.” It involves a broad network of institutions, with the Calabria Region serving as the lead, scientific coordination by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, and technical coordination by Arpa Calabria. Other participants include Arpae Emilia-Romagna, the Department of Epidemiology of the Lazio Regional Health Service, and various universities.
