Senigallia infrastructure: Appeal issued over Ponte Garibaldi project
Maurizio Mangialardi has issued an appeal to Senigallia Mayor Massimo Olivetti and the City Council regarding the construction of the Ponte Garibaldi. While noting the positive progress of the Coppetto bridge reconstruction following the 2022 floods, Mangialardi expressed concerns about the impact of the new Ponte Garibaldi project on the city's historic center.
He argues that the bridge's dimensions and placement pose risks to the urban and landscape integrity of one of Senigallia's most delicate areas. Mangialardi urged local authorities to actively represent the city's interests and seek dialogue, noting that technical alternatives—such as a lower bridge with lifting systems—have been proposed but were not included in the approved project. The matter has already reached the Council of State through legal appeals.
