Italy infrastructure: SP12 repairs in Sicily and SS106 updates in Calabria

Various regional infrastructure developments are underway across Italy. In Sicily, the Structure for Combating Hydrogeological Instability has awarded the executive design for the repair of the SP12 in Niscemi and the Calanco Canale area. The project, with a budget of three million euros, aims to mitigate damage from landslides and restore connectivity to the area.

In Calabria, Anas has concluded public consultation meetings regarding the new SS106 “Magna Grecia” highway. The discussions, held in Catanzaro, Locri, and Reggio Calabria, presented four design alternatives for the route. The “upstream” route for Lot 1, extending from Reggio Calabria to Bova, received the highest level of consensus among local stakeholders and technical experts.
