Calabria Regional Council approves clown therapy law and fuel subsidies

In Calabria, the Regional Council has passed several significant measures. A new law has been approved to promote clown therapy within healthcare and social assistance facilities to reduce patient stress, particularly for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Additionally, an amendment to the budget was passed to allocate 15 million euros to support businesses heavily impacted by high fuel costs.

The Council also addressed administrative changes, including the approval of a proposal to repeal recent modifications to the regional statute regarding the number of assessors and sub-secretaries.

In the healthcare sector, concerns have been raised regarding long waiting lists in Puglia, specifically within the Asl Bt, where some patients face years of delay for diagnostic exams like MRIs. Meanwhile, in Catanzaro, the ASP has announced a leadership change with the appointment of Alberto Domenico Damiano D’Arrò as acting Administrative Director to ensure institutional continuity.
