Senigallia to host national conference on author Carolina Invernizio

A national conference titled ‘Carolina Invernizio. Archetypes of noir, seriality and social redemption’ will be held on September 25 at the Antonelliana Municipal Library in Senigallia. Organized by the Rosellini Foundation and supported by various regional and academic institutions, the event aims to re-examine the work of Carolina Invernizio, a highly popular Italian author from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The program includes three sessions covering literary, technological, and graphic aspects, exploring the relationship between popular literature and society, including connections to contemporary languages and artificial intelligence. The event features contributions from scholars, writers, and experts, with institutional greetings from Culture Councilor Massimo Bello.

Preceding the conference, a presentation of the essay ‘Per ora basto a me stessa’ by Professor Virginia Di Martino will take place on September 24 at the Palazzetto Baviera. The book re-evaluates Invernizio’s work, moving beyond historical dismissals of her writing as mere ‘pink literature’ to highlight its social impact, themes of female autonomy, and its critique of bourgeois hypocrisy.
